Portrait Photographer in London
I'm Darren Boyd — a portrait photographer working across London and Hampshire, creating what I call Dimensional Portraits: images with both visual depth and emotional depth. Not a quick headshot, not a rushed studio snap, but a considered piece of photography that captures who you actually are. If you've ever felt that a camera flattens you into someone you don't recognise, this is the opposite of that.
Portraits with depth, made in London
A great portrait does more than record a face. It holds a presence. My work is built around light — using it to sculpt, to reveal, and to bring out the quiet confidence most people don't realise they photograph with. Whether we shoot in a London studio or on location somewhere that means something to you, the aim is always the same: an image that looks unmistakably, honestly like you.
Every individual is fearfully and wonderfully made, with an intrinsic worth worth celebrating. My sessions are built to draw that out — unhurried, guided, and completely free of the "performance" most people brace for in front of a lens.
What a session with me looks like
- Discovery & planning Every portrait begins with a conversation about your story, how you want to be seen, and the styling, wardrobe and setting that will get us there. Nothing is left to chance on the day.
- The session Studio or on location across London and Hampshire. A calm, directed space where you can let go and I do the rest — reading the light and guiding you frame by frame.
- Your gallery reveal A few weeks later we meet to view your images together and curate the strongest. If you'd like to bring any to life as fine-art prints or wall art, that conversation starts here — at your pace, never bundled, never pressured.

FAQ
Where are you based, and where do you shoot?
I'm a London and Hampshire portrait photographer. Sessions take place in a London studio or on location across both counties. Travel within London and Hampshire is included; locations further afield are charged at 45p per mile.
What's the difference between a portrait and a headshot?
A headshot answers "what do you look like?" A Dimensional Portrait answers "who are you?" It's a considered, art-directed piece — lit, styled and curated to be something you're proud to have on your wall, not just on a profile.
How long is a session?
A full portrait session runs up to two hours, so there's never any rush. We have time to try different looks, settings and expressions.
How soon will I see my images?
Your private online gallery is ready within two weeks of your session.
Do I have to buy prints?
No. Prints and wall art are always a separate, considered choice made after you've seen your images — never bundled in, never pressured.
